The human body is an amazingly adaptable machine. It can find ways to adapt to almost any kind of injury. Whether it shifts weight distribution to favor an injured leg, or it adjusts posture to adapt to a pulled muscle in our back. It always finds a way. If the injury heals and the body goes back to its original mode of movement, no lasting effects are noticed. Chronic injuries often lead our bodies to make these adjustments more of a permanent adaptation. After a few years, you hardly notice that stiff back when you wake up, or the way you walk a little hunched over. It's the new normal.
After recovering from an accident in 2002, this happened to me. My body had been compensating for my injuries for 15 years before I found relief through body work.
Using a combination of fascial manipulation, neuromuscular massage, muscle energy techniques, and cranial sacral therapy, my goal is to keep this from happening to you, or if it already has, then helping you get back to your old self.
